Aurora joined the double bass section of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra in April of 2025. Originally from Sydney, she began her music studies on the piano at age five with her mother, later learning flute from her father, before discovering her love for the double bass at the age of eight.  She studied with Ann Hosking Perrin, and from age ten, with Alex Henery. Aurora has received her AMEB Associate Diploma in Music (2009), a Bachelor of Music at Sydney University (2017) and a Graduate Certificate in Commerce at RMIT University (2021).

Aurora was awarded the Double Bass Fellowship with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2014 and was an ACO Emerging Artist in 2015. That same year, Aurora joined the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO), where she was a permanent member of the bass section for a decade.  During this period, Aurora won auditions for Assistant Principal Bass with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra (2018) and Section Bass with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (2023) and spent several months contracted in both orchestras before returning to her position with the TSO.

Beyond performance, Aurora is passionate about music education and community. She served as Vice President of the board of Music Tasmania (2021-2023) and worked as guest double bass examiner for the University of Tasmania. Aurora teaches double bass privately and has tutored for the Sydney and Australian Youth Orchestras.

Aurora loves Bach, chamber music, theatre, art, books, dogs (she had a dog sitting business in Tasmania) and hiking in her free time. Since relocating to Melbourne, she has been enjoying the city’s vibrant arts culture.
